CLASSICAL ARABIC MUSIC
Is a real rich culture in itself. It was built through human history since ages. In our universal spirit, the cassical Arabic Music is and will always embody the thousand and one night tales, the Scheherazade and Aladin adventures. Yet today, the people are thirsty and in need for such type of music to get connected with the Arab world. When you listen to its different styles and melodies, you have the deep feeling that you are discovering something new, something different from another culture. In fact the truth is: though the sounds mighte’ve seamed very foreign sometimes, you would’ve felt the beat and discovered the common language, had-you given it a chance. The point here is even if we may not completely understand this type of music, we end really connected to it, feeling it if we decide to listen with our hearts not with our ears…
MODERN ARABIC MUSIC
Different musicians, a mixture of Arabic and Western instruments, such as the violin, the cello, the piano, the qanun, the oud, and the percussion instruments like the riq, and many borderless other instruments make the Maqamat orchestra. As soon as the Maqamat orchestra start performing, the sounds will slowly and dramatically build into harmonies and rhythms that were first made popular by classical musicians from the Arab world then will blend seamlessly through the air to make the Modern Arabic music, (the mixture of Arabic and Western sounds and hamonies). The composition is simple yest rich and well balanced: on one side of the scene the musicians play, while opposite them stand a formation of young choral singers, hitting melodically the highs and lows of the Arabic lyrics in unisson.
